DonnyFest announces charity partnership with Active Fusion

At DonnyFest, community has always been at the heart of what we do. From day one, the festival has grown through the support of local people, local businesses, and families who believe in what we are building. As DonnyFest continues to grow, it is important to us that we give something meaningful back to the community that has helped shape the event.

We are proud to announce Active Fusion as DonnyFest’s official charity partner.

A partnership built on shared values

This partnership came together naturally through shared values and a strong local connection. DonnyFest is a family friendly festival, and with that comes a responsibility to support children, young people, and families in our area.

Active Fusion has been supporting young people in Doncaster and surrounding areas since 2002. Over the last two decades, they have helped more than 100,000 young people through youth work, sport, and community projects. Their work focuses on giving children and young people positive opportunities, building confidence, and creating safe spaces where they can feel supported.

These values closely reflect what DonnyFest stands for. Music, community, and shared experiences bring people together, and we believe festivals can be a positive force beyond just the event itself.

Giving back to the community

As DonnyFest has grown, so has our sense of responsibility to give back. This partnership is one way we can support the community that continues to support us year after year.

Andy O’Grady, Festival Director at DonnyFest, said:

“DonnyFest wouldn’t be what it is without the support of our local community. As a family-friendly festival, it’s important to us that we support children and families, and Active Fusion does incredible work in that space. This partnership allows us to give something back in a way that feels real and meaningful.”

Active Fusion’s work focuses heavily on youth projects and local programmes, helping young people stay active, build social skills, and improve their wellbeing. Many of these projects support children and families who may face barriers to sport or activity, making inclusion a core part of their mission.

Lindsy James, Founder and Director of Active Fusion, said:

“We are really proud to be partnering with DonnyFest. Their commitment to the local community and to supporting young people aligns strongly with our work. Partnerships like this help us continue delivering projects that make a real difference for children and families across Doncaster.”

How DonnyFest will support Active Fusion

DonnyFest will be supporting Active Fusion in several ways throughout the festival journey.

Visitors will be able to make optional donations through the DonnyFest website after purchasing tickets. Donations will be available on the “thank you for your order” page, giving people the chance to support the charity if they are able to, without any pressure.

Active Fusion will also be promoted across the DonnyFest website and during the event itself. On the day of the festival, Active Fusion will have a dedicated stand where festival goers can meet the team, learn more about their work, and understand how their support helps local young people.

All donations are optional, but every contribution will help fund youth work and local projects that support children and families in our area.

Looking ahead

This partnership is not just about fundraising. It is about awareness, connection, and supporting long-term positive outcomes for the community. By working together, DonnyFest and Active Fusion aim to create a stronger link between music, community, and social impact.

We are excited to welcome Active Fusion into the DonnyFest family and look forward to building something positive together.
