The Magic Numbers – Live at DonnyFest’26

The Magic Numbers are a much-loved UK band known for rich vocal harmonies, warm melodies and carefully written songs that have stood the test of time. Formed by two sets of siblings, Romeo and Michele Stodart alongside Sean and Angela Gannon, the four-piece have built a sound that blends indie, folk and pop with a strong emotional pull.

They rose to national attention with their self-titled debut album in 2005, which earned a Mercury Prize nomination and wide praise from critics and fans alike. The album featured several well-known singles, including Forever Lost, Love Me Like You and Love Is a Game, and went on to sell over a million copies worldwide. Its success helped place The Magic Numbers firmly among the most popular British bands of the mid-2000s.

Since then, the band have released a series of successful albums, each adding new depth to their sound while staying true to the harmonies and melodies that first drew people in. Their music often centres on love, relationships and reflection, delivered with a sincerity that continues to connect with audiences across generations.

The Magic Numbers are also widely respected for their live shows. Their performances are uplifting and full of feeling, with strong vocals at the heart of every set. Over the years they have toured extensively around the world and shared stages with some of the biggest names in music, helping them grow a loyal and wide-ranging fanbase.

Alongside their work as a band, the members of The Magic Numbers have been involved in a range of creative projects. Romeo Stodart has written and produced music for several well-known artists, as well as contributing to award-winning releases. Michele Stodart has also released her own solo material and is recognised for her work across music and visual art. These wider projects add to the band’s depth and experience, both in the studio and on stage.

Their appearance at DonnyFest brings a classic British band to Doncaster, offering festival-goers a chance to hear timeless songs performed live by a group whose sound remains as engaging today as when they first emerged. Expect big harmonies, familiar favourites and a performance built on genuine musicianship.
